Erika Benfield, RN, MSN, FNP

When my family and I moved to Fredericksburg in 2009, I knew we had found home. I am honored to be able to serve the people of Fredericksburg and the surrounding communities through my role as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Cornerstone Clinic. As a nurse practitioner, I am able to meet your comprehensive healthcare needs including providing prescriptions, offering wellness and preventative services, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and radiology studies, and making referrals as needed for specialty care.

I received my bachelor’s of science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, I was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy Nurse Corps and served for six years. I was blessed to care for our nation’s service members, their families, and veterans in places as far away as Guam and the Persian Gulf.

After fifteen years of bedside nursing, I decided to return to school so I could more thoroughly meet the needs of my patients. I graduated from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center with my master’s of science in nursing and received the Excellence in Nursing Award, awarded by the faculty to the top graduate each year.

My passion as a nurse practitioner is optimizing each person’s health and wellness. I enjoy caring for infants and taking the time to talk to new parents’ concerns as much as I love helping elderly patients stay happy, healthy and independent and everything in between. My intent is to partner with each patient to establish a realistic plan of care to meet individualized health goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children and serving the community and our children’s schools.
